Israel launched a new campaign of intense bombings on Monday against several areas of southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley, strongholds of the Shiite group Hezbollah, amid growing tensions following last week’s unprecedented attacks on Lebanese territory.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency (LNA), the airstrikes hit a large number of areas in the south, including around 80 strikes concentrated in the Nabatieh region, as well as at least seven different areas in the Bekaa, which until now had only been attacked to a limited extent.
In addition, Israel has asked residents of the bombed areas to move away from buildings used by Hezbollah.
