Emin Amrullayev: “Turkey-Azerbaijan University to be inaugurated today”

“A research-oriented hospital will be established at the University of Karabakh.”

This was stated by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, answering questions from “Trend” on the first day of classes at school No. 4 in Khankendi.

He noted that this year has seen the start of a historic and proud academic year. A week ago, schools were opened in Shusha and Khojaly, and today classes began at the University of Karabakh and at school number 4 in the city of Khankendi.

“The inauguration of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan University will take place in the afternoon.

We plan to make Karabakh University one of the leading universities in the field of science and education. All this was possible in a very short time. More than 500 children go to school in Khankendi. I am sure that this number will increase in the coming weeks. I think that a second school will be opened in Khankendi. It depends on the number of children who will start teaching.

“A medical faculty is planned to be opened at the University of Karabakh. A research-oriented hospital is planned here. If everything goes according to plan, we will see first-year students of the medical faculty next year,” the minister added.

It should be noted that for the 2024/25 academic year, 1,104 people were admitted to the University of Karabakh, and the admission plan was filled by 98.5 percent. Among the students admitted to the university, 101 people scored more than 600 points, and 385 people scored more than 500 points. The highest result was recorded in the specialty of jurisprudence with 683.8 points. The candidate who won the Olympiad was accepted out of competition to the electrical and electronic engineering program at the university. In general, the average admission score for specialty groups I to IV at the University of Karabakh was 467.6. In addition, in the first academic year, “SABAH” groups were organized at the University of Karabakh in the areas of jurisprudence, teaching foreign languages (English), finance and accounting.
