The US Department of Defense has signed contracts for the production and supply of military weapons worth more than 1.3 billion dollars. This was reported on November 22 by the department’s press service.

The most important contract was obtained by Lockheed Martin, with a total amount of $869.9, for the production of F-35 Lot 20 fighter aircraft. The money should be used to purchase equipment, components and materials. The aircraft will be supplied to the US Air Force and Navy.

It is specified that the work will be carried out in companies in the cities of Fort Worth (Texas), El Segundo (California), Wharton (United Kingdom) and Cameri (Italy). The plan should be completed by spring 2031.

Additionally, the second largest contract was awarded to Raytheon, worth $439 billion. These funds will be used to produce Evolved Seasparrow Missile Block II missiles for the Navy and international customers. Production completion is scheduled for June 2029.

Previously, on October 29, the press service of the US Department of Defense announced the conclusion of a contract for the production of UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters for Australia, Brazil, Greece, Sweden and Thailand worth at least 1.2 billion dollars. From the Ministry’s statement it follows that the contract was concluded with the manufacturer of this helicopter model, Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, Izvestia recalls.
