The ERC deputy of Girona Montse Bassa informed the leadership of the Republican Group in the Congress of Deputies this Monday that resigns from his position as MP for “personal reasons”.
This was reported by his own party, which highlighted his commitment “to the fight against repression and to the defence of the Catalan language”. “His efforts in these two areas have been essential to achieve the achievements of the amnesty law or the defense of the Catalan language and for Making Catalan Speak in Congress“, adds the independence party in a press release, which concludes by thanking “his always loyal and honest dedication and his good faith”.
Bassa, who is the sister of the former minister of the Generalitat and convicted in the Dolors Bassa trial, had been a deputy in Congress since 2019.
