Puente warns that “it does not seem possible to resume the high-speed train between Madrid and Valencia in the next 4 days”

Since the fall of the DANA this Tuesday in the Valencian Community, some 24,000 passengers have been affected by the suspension of the long-distance and high-speed rail service due to the damage caused by the meteorological phenomenon and which will continue this Wednesday. A situation which is likely to last until the end of this week.

Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport, warned through his X account that the “damage caused to high speed between Madrid and Valencia is significant”. Consequently, “resumption of service in the next 4 days does not seem possible. When we have a definitive diagnosis on the time needed to rebuild the line, we will make it public”.
