Donald Trump nominates former football player Scott Turner as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development

The American president-elect, Donald Trumpchose this Friday for Scott Turnerformer American football player, to lead the portfolio of Urban planning and housing of his future administration.

Turner spent nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos.

During Trump’s first term (2017-2021), he served as the first executive director of the White House Office of Revitalization and Opportunity, dedicated to communities most in need.

According to the transition team’s press release, these zones have received, thanks to their work, some 50 billion dollars (around 48 billion euros) in private investment.

Trump also pointed out that Turner, a Texas native, is associate pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church.

“You will work with me to make Making America Great Again for Every American“, declared the New York magnate, who also congratulated the wife and son of his elected official for this appointment.

Trump also announced in recent hours main figures who will be part of your government and will be in charge of health issuesamong them the director of the organization which was in charge of the government strategy in the face of the covid 19 pandemic.

So, Trump announced the nomination of the former congressman Dave Weldon as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a physician with more than four decades of experience and an Army veteran.

During his political career, he worked on the Labor Appropriations Subcommittee to prepare budgets for agencies such as the CDC and also to enact a ban on patenting human embryos.

In a statement, the president-elect said Weldon is “a respected conservative leader on fiscal and social issues.”

With his arrival in government, Trump will seek to restore Americans’ “trust” in the CDC and within federal health authorities, “who participated in censorship, data manipulation and disinformation,” said the former president (2017-2021).

The future president also announced that Janette Nesheiwat will be the surgeon general of the United Statesposition which allows him to be the main spokesperson for public health issues in the country.

Nesheiwat, he declared, “is “a strong advocate and communicator of preventative medicine and public health.”.

The Republican leader also named the surgeon Marty Makary as FDA Commissioner, an organization that he says has also “lost the trust of Americans and lost sight of its primary goal as a regulator.”

Makary will work under the direction of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.the controversial election of Trump as Secretary of Health.
