A judicial investigation has begun into the criminal case of Ruhiyya Tahirova, accused of the murder of Samir Israfilov, with whom she lived in an informal husband-wife relationship.
Oku.AzAccording to the defendant’s data, the information from the defendants’ questionnaire was clarified at the first session chaired by the judge of the Baku Serious Crimes Court Kamran Mukhtarov. Although the defense lawyer filed an appeal to change the measure of pre-trial detention against his client, the court, after a short deliberation, did not accept the appeal and made a decision to submit the criminal case to trial.
It should be noted that the incident occurred on May 30, 2024 at around 9 a.m. in the Sabunchu district of the capital. The Sabunchu district prosecutor’s office received information about the death of Samir Israfilov, born in 1986, from stab wounds.
During the investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that Ruhiyya Tahirova, born in 1976, intentionally killed Samir Israfilov, with whom she lived in an unofficial husband-wife relationship, by injuring her with a knife during an argument between them.
The Sabunchu District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a criminal investigation into the incident under Article 120.1 (intentional homicide) of the Criminal Code. Ruhiyya Tahirova was arrested as a suspect in the case.
