At least four Lebanese civilians were killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, in an offensive which also left more than 20 injured, according to official sources in the country.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health notably confirmed that a total of 23 people were affected by the offensive, which took place in the Basta district, in the center of the city, according to the Al Mayadeen television channel. Previously, he had warned of the presence of certain four missiles against a residential building in the area. At least one is believed to have hit the property.
The Lebanese national press agency, for its part, raised the number of missiles detected increased to five and located the target of the attack on Al Mamoun Street, in an eight-story residential building. Furthermore, they indicated that several surrounding buildings were hit, without specifying the number of dead and injured.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, at least 3,645 people died and 15,355 others were injured because of Israeli attacks last year.
The intensification of hostilities comes amid clashes that began more than a year ago, since Hezbollah attacked Israel after the attacks of October 7, 2023. This led to the Israeli army will launch a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip where more than 44,000 people have already died.
