It won’t be until January that Donald Trump take office as president of the United States after winning the November 5 presidential election against Democrat Kamala Harris. But that doesn’t stop us from starting to find out which team will accompany the American tycoon in the next US government.
The latest appointed by Trump to be part of his executive are the former NFL (National Football League) player and former member of the government during the tycoon’s first term, Scott Turneras Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and hedge fund investor and manager, Scott Bessentas the new Treasury Secretary.
The first repeats itself, but now in a more important position, and Donald Trump highlighted the athlete’s high profile in his Truth Social account: “Scott is an NFL veteran who, during my first term, was the first executive director of White House Revitalization and Opportunity Councilhelping to lead an unprecedented effort that transformed our nation’s most disadvantaged communities. “Scott will work alongside me to make America great again for ALL Americans.”
Turner is the first African American nominated so far for a position in the Trump administration. If approved by the Senate, he would lead a department charged with coordinating national policy that addresses the nation’s housing needs, including programs to promote affordable housing or provide assistance to low-income Americans .
Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury
In contrast, the President-elect of the United States appointed the investor and hedge fund managerScott Bessent, as the new Treasury Secretary, introducing him as “one of the world’s leading international investors and geopolitical and economic strategists.”
“I am extremely pleased to nominate Scott Bessent as the 79th Secretary of the Treasury of the United States. Scott is widely respected as one of the world’s leading international investors and geopolitical and economic strategists. THE Scott’s story is one of the American dream. My administration will restore the freedom, strength, resilience, and efficiency of our capital markets. “We will reinvigorate the private sector and help halt the unsustainable trajectory of the federal debt,” the tycoon said in a statement.
Bessent, 62, was one of the key figures in the fundraising for elections of Trump, was one of his economic policy advisors during the campaign and is the founder of the hedge fund Key Square Capital Management.
One of Trump’s most controversial economic proposals is charge high prices to all imports, leading some economists to warn that the measure could reignite inflation. In media interviews, Bessent tried to downplay Trump’s business threats. “My general view is that at the end of the day he is a free trade advocate.”

Chávez-DeRemer was the first Republican woman to represent Oregon in the United States House of Representatives, but lost his candidacy re-elected earlier this month. In the House, he serves on the Agriculture, Education and Workforce, and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
