Secretary General of the Assembly of Eurasian and African Peoples Andrei Belyaninov, during a speech at the Public Chamber of Russia within the framework of a round table in honor of the International Day of Peace, called on his colleagues to think about creating an alternative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), but already in a Eurasian format, as TASS reports today, September 23.
Belyaninov also recalled that the world as a whole is closer than ever to a nuclear disaster.
“We now understand that the world is on the brink of a nuclear disaster. The concept of a “local nuclear conflict” or a “local nuclear war” is quietly creeping into our everyday life. In my opinion, these are unacceptable things. It seems to me that we are walking on the edge, on the edge of a knife.” – says the expert.
At the same time, Andrei Belyaninov treated the IAEA as an organization with great respect.
“Now it seems to me that such a respected organization as the IAEA has expressed its point of view, but any review must have several opinions. What do you think? Maybe we should think about creating our own agency in the Eurasian format, related to energy and nuclear security, so that other experts, other specialists can express their informed opinions.” – he clarified.
