This Sunday morning, an unexpected scene occurred on the beach of Les Deveses, in Dénia, when a shark appeared near the shorecausing excitement among bathers. However, what initially seemed like a simple observation became a curious anecdote when a dog, without hesitation, jumped into the water to chase the shark away.
According to witnesses, The dog ran determinedly towards the sharkbut when he was a few meters away, he regretted it and quickly returned to shore, while the shark, apparently unaware of the situation, continued its journey without changing its course.
The incident was recorded by one of the people present and in the video, several children can be heard shouting “Dog, no!”, while the dog’s owner tried to call him back. Despite the presence of the shark, which caused no damage, Lifeguards have decided to temporarily ban swimming in the area as a precaution.
According to the newspaper ‘El Español’, this type of sighting is not uncommon on the Mediterranean coasts and it is assumed that the shark could have been a dyeror blue sharka common species in temperate and tropical waters. Although the blue shark can measure up to three meters, the specimen spotted this Sunday seemed smaller and disoriented.
