The Provincial Council of Segovia pronounced this Friday their rewards to a dozen people and initiatives which “constitute a success in their respective fields and which are strong beats of the Segovian heart“and that they received the figure of sculpture ‘Little Brothers of Milk’, work by Ségovin Aniceto Marinas, from 1926, the scale reproduction of which serves as an image for these awards.
The president of the provincial institution, Michelangelo by Vincentwas accompanied by the vice-president of the regional government of Castilla y León and minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Isabelle Blanco; members of the Provincial Corporation, as well as a good number of mayors and councilors of the province and representatives of Segovian society gathered at the event which took place in the La Farm facilities, in the Royal Site of San Ildefonso.
In his speech, the president of the Provincial Deputation included the memory of the victims and people affected by DANA in various parts of Spanish territory and a minute of silence was observed.
After that, he emphasized that the “best in the province”it is among other things “its culture, its businesses, its heritage, its associations and above all its inhabitants, its people”. It is for this reason that he emphasized the “humanity, tenacity and pleasure at work” which characterizes all winners.
The winners
The Segovian journalist Macarena Bartolomé received the Special Prize of this edition, while the Equality Prize, the judge of the Central Court of the National Tribunal, Maria Tardon Olmos and that of Foods of Segovia corresponded to Quesería The Dula of the Plateaux.
In the Sports section, the winner was Porfirio Fisac, national basketball and business coach, received the award San Ignacio sausageswhile in the Ensemble category, he awarded his prize to Community of irrigators of El Carracillo.
