Jaén PP leader praises dictatorship to criticize Pedro Sánchez’s management

Lucrecia Sánchez, spokesperson for the Popular Party of Porcuna (Jaén) and director of the Alto Guadalquivir Hospital in Andújar, had to apologize after highlighting the Franco regime against the government of Pedro Sánchez. The leader, who is a senior official of the Popular Jaenenses, published on her WhatsApp account an image in which the data of the dictatorship are compared to those of the current democracy to praise the Franco regime.

The events, which were denounced by the PSOE of Jaén as an “exaltation of Francoism”, took place this Saturday when Sánchez decided to share said publication and add a text: “And the bad guy was Franco”. To these words, the leader of the Popular Party of Porcuna (6,200 inhabitants) added a “hahahaha” with which she mocked the comparison that has left the current democracy in a bad position.

The image, titled “I call this historical memory”, compares data such as the percentage of public debt that existed during the dictatorship and today, youth unemployment, the time it took to pay for housing and the existence of VAT. The data provided is not based on official statistics: VAT did not exist, although there were other taxes; youth unemployment was particularly serious in the post-war period and up until the 1960s; while public debt was low, but largely due to austerity and the lack of investment to provide quality public services to citizens.

My apologies to anyone who felt offended.

In any case, Lucrecia Sánchez was forced to back down after publishing this image and mocking the government of Pedro Sánchez. The popular leader shared a statement in which she apologizes “to anyone who felt offended.” According to Sánchez, it was not “the intention to glorify a dictatorial regime.” Of course, the leader of the Porcuna Popular Party clarifies that her intention was “to highlight the terrible management, in my opinion, of Pedro Sánchez, very far from the economy of the ordinary citizen that was going like a rocket, even compared to a “precedent.” period that was very difficult for our country. ”

This is not the first time in recent days that the PP of Jaén has been linked to the Franco regime. Without going any further, the opposition in the city council of the capital denounced the fact that the new councilor for Sports, Ana Núñez, shared numerous messages on social networks extolling the Franco regime. The councilor apologized, specifying that they had been “taken out of context” and that she had written them when she was “very young.”

A year ago, the current councilor, Agustín González, also had to back down for publishing a column in which he attacked the government of Pedro Sánchez, assuring that he was “equidistant between the bullets and the neck” to criticize the power of the Executive. position to agree with Bildu to carry out the investiture. Words described as “miserable” by the PSOE. In addition, on that occasion, the socialists demanded her resignation from her position as director of the hospital because they consider the publication “inadmissible”.
