Roger Palm, the legendary Swedish drummer who played on many of ABBA’s hits, has died aged 75, according to the Aftonbladet website, citing the musician’s family.
“He was a warm and humble man who always protected his friends and family. He will be missed and his passing has left a great void.” — the artist’s family said in a statement.
It is clarified that Palm died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Palm began her musical career at the age of 17 and began working with ABBA in the 1970s. Notably, the group recorded the hits Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia and Thank You for the Music with him. In addition to pop music, Palm also played with the jazz bands Gimmicks and Moonlighters.
