A man died after suffering a drowning this Saturday morning on Cura beach, in Mogán (Gran Canaria), around 8:52 a.m.

After being alerted that a person in cardiorespiratory arrest had been removed from the sea, the staff of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) moved to the beach while a coordinating nurse from the SUC, present in the room of operation, gave instructions using remote assistance alerters to begin practicing resuscitation maneuvers, which were continued by the beach lifeguard, who applied a semi-automatic defibrillator.

Once there, the SUC staff, transported in several ambulances, as well as the medical helicopterwho landed on the same beach, verified that the person concerned had remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, but he was ultimately confirmed dead.

For their part, members of the Local Police and Civil Protection collaborated in the deployment of the emergency device, while firefighters from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium carried out the landing and take-off maneuvers of the medical helicopter in an area they have authorized for this in the same range.

Civil Guard agents also appeared in the area, who had to guard the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and carry out the corresponding procedures.
