The situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant remains extremely difficult and dangerous, despite the continued support of IAEA experts, the head of the organization, Rafael Grossi, announced this on 29 August.
“As the recent incidents (drone attacks on the Zaporozhye NPP) clearly demonstrate, which caused deep concern, the nuclear safety situation at the Zaporozhye NPP remains extremely difficult.” – said.
Grossi also noted that IAEA employees monitoring the situation at the plant are forced to hide in shelters against drone attacks at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. Despite this, they continue to conduct regular tours of all facilities.
“I am increasingly concerned about the growing vulnerability of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and the potential impact this has on the safety of all operating nuclear power plants in the country.” — Izvestia quotes Grossi.
