“Armenia is preparing for war instead of talking about peace. This thesis has become more and more common in recent days. Simple journalists, politicians and sufficiently informed people have begun to express and write this opinion in different ways.”
This was stated by Turan Ibrahimov, head of the Baku TV department.
He noted that there are reasons why Armenia came to this idea:
“First of all, one can cite as an example states with dark designs for the region: France, the United States, Iran and even certain forces within Russia. The strength of the Azerbaijani army, economic and geopolitical power and emerging realities make Armenia attempt such suicide. In fact, the issue is one. It can be explained in another way. Armenia is not capable of waging war with Azerbaijan out of revenge, no matter how much it is armed, no matter how much it is supported, even if others support it. If it were to fight in its place, its current advantages seem absurd.”
T. Ibrahimov also said that the forces that somehow strengthen Armenia and lead this country to a situation where peace runs away from peace, have different goals:
“They are trying to break the current unequivocal balance of power in the South Caucasus, to demote Azerbaijan from the status of a leader and spokesperson of the region by strengthening Armenia through this country, and to control Azerbaijan in this and other ways in their world. From this we can conclude that Armenia will go to war, more precisely, as if it were preparing to commit suicide.”
