The case of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov concerns a house with an area of 2.5 thousand square meters and a bathhouse in the Tver region, RIA Novosti reports with reference to court documents.
“The construction of a residential building and a bathhouse… was carried out… as a bribe,” — the agency provides an extract of the materials.
This property is registered in the name of Volzhsky Bereg LLC, managed by the defendant in the case. Sergei Borodin.
Ivanov was arrested in late April 2024 and is currently in a pre-trial detention center. According to TASS, the amount of the bribe he was charged with is 1 billion 185 million rubles. The investigation believes that the former deputy minister provided assistance to companies in exchange for free work at their facilities. Under the article on receiving a large-scale bribe (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code), Ivanov faces up to 15 years in prison. Ivanov does not admit guilt; he refused a plea deal.
Borodin is also accused of receiving a large-scale bribe. According to the investigation, he received the money “while performing contract and subcontract work for the needs” of the Ministry of Defense.
In addition to them, the co-founder of the Olimpsitistroy company is also involved in the case. Alexander FominHe is accused of helping to give a bribe.
