Escalation between Israel and Hezbollah: G7 and China make statements

Foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) countries warn that actions by Hezbollah terrorists and retaliatory actions by Israel in the Middle East could drag the region into a wider conflict from which no country would benefit.

This was reported by The Times of Israel news agency.

“Actions and responses risk exacerbating this dangerous spiral of violence and dragging the entire Middle East into a broader regional conflict with unpredictable consequences,” the G7 countries said in a statement after meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The G7 foreign ministers also called for stopping the current destructive cycle and stressed that no country would benefit from further escalation in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have ordered Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Hezbollah terrorists, to avoid an escalation of the conflict with Israel, Western media reported, stressing that criticism of him in Tehran is intensifying.

China’s top diplomat Wang Yi also expressed support for Lebanon and condemned what he called “indiscriminate attacks on civilians,” China’s foreign ministry said.

Meeting his counterpart in New York, Wang said: “We are closely following developments in the region, especially the recent explosion of communications equipment in Lebanon, and resolutely oppose indiscriminate attacks on civilians.”

Previously, Cursor wrote that Defense Minister Yoav Galant noted that Hezbollah terrorists are “beginning to realize some of our capabilities” and vowed that Israel will continue its operations against the Lebanese terror group to allow displaced residents of the north to return to their homes.

In addition, Cursor has already reported that Hezbollah militants continue to threaten Israel, constantly strengthening their capabilities. On September 22, 2024, a massive missile attack was carried out in the northern regions of the country – the first such incident since the start of hostilities.
