During a meeting with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China’s readiness to support the Latin American country’s national sovereignty regardless of the international situation, TASS reports.
During the conversation, he described China and Venezuela as good friends and partners.
“No matter how the international situation changes, China will continue to support Venezuela in safeguarding national sovereignty, dignity and promoting economic and social development.” – said Wang Yi.
He spoke in favor of strengthening and developing the friendship between China and Venezuela. He called for firm and continuous support for each other on issues affecting each other’s core interests and major concerns, and for translating the important consensus reached by the two heads of state into practical actions to develop China-Venezuela relations.
