The Cabildo of Gran Canaria has asked the bus company Global to activate the protocols for identifying a man after a complaint for sexual abuseafter a passenger reported being groped in the vehicle in a video posted on TikTok.
The response on the social network after the complaint gave rise to multiple comments, including that of other users who assured that this same person He allegedly abused it on other trips, both on Global and on Guaguas Municipales.
Concretely, the measure comes after the publication of a video on the social network TikTok recorded and shared by the complainant herself of some alleged events that would have taken place near the Barranco de Bañaderos stop, on board one of the units that travel on line 206, and in which some of the collisions would be confirmed.
For the moment, the investigations carried out by Global have allowed to identify the author of these alleged crimes. In fact, it has been verified that this citizen He used his transport ticket more than fifteen times a dayboth in the Global and Municipal Bus units. Said personal transport pass has been cancelled until its possible responsibilities are resolved, if any.
The Minister of the Presidency and Sustainable Mobility, Teodoro Sosa, stressed that “the Cabildo has zero tolerance with violence and sexual assault. For this reason, we have requested to activate the protocols and identify the aggressor and we put ourselves at the disposal of the citizen who reported the events. Sosa also stressed the importance of citizen collaboration “to denounce these unacceptable acts.”
