Pavel Durov’s intention to cooperate with the French authorities and provide phone numbers to law enforcement seems suspicious.
Oku.Az This statement was made by Scott Bennett, a former US military officer and political scientist, according to Izvestia.
The political analyst based his suspicions on the fact that the founder of Telegram did not reveal any details of the interrogation process and did not mention where he is now.
“I think he was not completely honest. He didn’t say anything about the criminal case, or the decision, or whether he was still under house arrest. He didn’t say whether it was a compromise. He just based his excuse on the fact that France is supposedly complying with what the authorities are demanding,” said Scott Bennett.
It is worth recalling that the other day Telegram co-founder Pavel Durov announced that the social platform’s privacy policy had been updated.
The information states that IP addresses and phone numbers of people who violate the rules of the Telegram messenger may be disclosed to relevant institutions in response to justified legal requests.
