Atlético de Madrid coach, Diego Simeone, played his 700th game in charge of the Club.
Oku.Az Reports that yesterday, on matchday 14 of the Spanish league, the Madrid club defeated Alavés 2-1.
Simeone, 54, became the first professional in La Liga history to play 700 official matches as coach of the same team. They won 413 times, drew 156 times and lost 131 times in 700 matches.
It should be remembered that Simeone took the reins of the Madrid team in December 2011. The Argentine coach won two Spanish championships, a national cup and a Super Cup, two UEFA Europa Leagues and two UEFA Super Cups with Atlético. Under his leadership, Atlético twice reached the Champions League final, but lost both times to Real Madrid.
After 14 games in the league this season, Atlético is in second place in the tournament standings with 29 points.
