Israeli warplanes carried out several raids on towns in Lebanon’s eastern Baalbek-Hermel province on Tuesday, killing entire families and triggering a mass exodus of residents, the Arabic publication Rai Alyoum reported on Tuesday, September 24, citing the official Lebanese news agency.

It is reported that as a result of the raids “entire families were trapped under the rubble” and several other people were injured and taken to hospitals.

Earlier today, Israeli warplanes carried out dawn strikes on areas in southern Lebanon, including the towns of Kafardounin and Sultaniya, as well as the area between the towns of Hamiri and Tirfalsia, Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported.

In turn, Hezbollah announced that it had launched six rocket attacks early Tuesday against two military airfields, a military base and an explosives factory in northern Israel. Hezbollah said in a statement that the group carried out three attacks on the Megiddo military airfield, west of the city of Afula, with Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 missiles. In other statements, Hezbollah said it bombed the base and the Ramat David airfield in Basel with Fadi 2 rockets, about 25 kilometers from the Lebanese border. The Lebanese organization also reported that Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 missiles hit the Amos base, which is a transportation and logistical support center for the Israeli army’s northern region, and an explosives plant in the Zachrona region of northern Israel, which is approximately 60 km from the Lebanese border.

The Times of Israel, meanwhile, reported that sirens were heard over rocket fire from Lebanon in the towns of Nazareth and Afula and in many other settlements in the Galilee region in northern Israel. Later, the same newspaper, citing an Israeli military statement, reported that Hezbollah fired some 20 rockets in a northern direction and “some of these rockets were intercepted, while others fell in open areas.”

An Iraqi group calling itself the Islamic Resistance in Iraq said Tuesday it carried out a drone attack on targets in the Golan Heights.

On Monday morning, the Israeli army launched a large-scale operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon. New French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault He called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the situation in the Middle Eastern country.
