The “silent death” came to life again: experts raised the alarm

Since the weather has cooled, cases of carbon monoxide asphyxiation have increased rapidly.

“Silent Death” does not look at age.

Rafig Bayramov, born in 1952, and his brother, Ramiz Bayramov, born in 1961, who attended the funeral in the village of Esrik Jirdakhan, Tovuz region, were among those who suffocated from carbon monoxide in the house of his father, where they spent the night.

Additionally, three family members were poisoned by carbon monoxide in Sumgait and one of them died.

In October, the number of people admitted to the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center with the diagnosis of carbon monoxide poisoning increased.

Although winter has not yet arrived, citizens in the capital and regions use gas stoves to heat their homes due to unstable weather conditions.

Safety experts said that carbon monoxide leaks due to improper and improper cleaning of the stove.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that the height of spaces where gas appliances are used should not be less than 2 meters 20 centimeters:

“In these places the ventilation system must work, the ventilation must be open. In bathrooms where gas appliances are used, there must be ventilation pipes and holes under the doors. Chimneys must be cleaned twice a year.”
