Azerbaijani citizens detained in Chechnya have been brought back to the country.
Oku.Az According to reports, this was stated by Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Aykhan Hajizade in response to a question from the media about the return of Azerbaijani citizens detained in Chechnya.
According to him, as soon as information was received about the detention of Azerbaijani citizens Elkhan Akbar oghlu Shirinov, born in 1975, Vugar Nazim oghlu Maharramov, born in 1982, and Nihad Tafdig oghlu Rzayev, born in 2004, to return our citizens to our country, Russia immediately. A note was addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Federation, negotiations were held with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and other relevant institutions.
“In addition, our embassy held a telephone conversation with our detained citizens. As a result of the work carried out for the return of our citizens to our country, the return of our mentioned citizens to Azerbaijan by land from the state border crossing with the Russian Federation was ensured on September 21,” the Foreign Ministry official stressed.
It should be noted that about a month ago there were reports that three Azerbaijani citizens, Elkhan Shirinov, Vugar Maharramov and Nihad Rzayev, were detained in Chechnya on charges of violating the migration laws of the Russian Federation, and then Elkhan Shirinov and Vugar Maharramov were involved in training in Grozny to be sent to war in Ukraine.
