Powerful blow to Beirut – Reuters reports new details

Reuters has reported new details about the powerful attack on Beirut, citing its sources in the intelligence services.

The IDF attack in the Dahiya area killed at least one person, according to two security sources.

The Lebanese network Al Mayadeen, linked to Hezbollah, confirmed the reports and added that several people were injured.

Recall that, according to media reports, an IDF aircraft carried out a targeted strike against a residential building in the Dahiya area, a southern suburb of Beirut. The strike damaged the top three floors of a six-story building in the Al-Jabiri area.

The media reports that the target of the liquidation in Dahiya was Abu Javad Harihi, the head of Hezbollah’s missile division.

According to the Lebanese channel Al-Jadid, as a result of the attack in Daahia, 5 people were killed and 11 others were injured, 2 of them in serious condition. The Saudi channel Al-Hadat reports that the fate of the target of the attack is still unknown.

Earlier, Cursor reported that Hezbollah will not be given a respite and that IDF attacks will double. The army announced this.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said Hezbollah will not be given a chance to rest and that Israel intends to step up military action against the group in Lebanon.

During his morning analysis of the situation, Halevi noted that Israel will continue to increase its offensive operations while strengthening its defensive lines. According to him, the current situation requires constant activity in all directions, including Lebanon and other conflict zones. Israel plans to intensify efforts to neutralize the Hezbollah threat and minimize the risk of further escalation.

Following the Cabinet meeting, it became clear that Israel has so far avoided starting a full-scale war with Hezbollah, despite recent massive airstrikes against the Lebanese group’s infrastructure and militants. Final decisions will be made after Netanyahu returns from the United States, where he will participate in the UN General Assembly summit. Hezbollah therefore has several days to decide on its future actions: to capitulate or prepare for new powerful attacks by the IDF.

Meanwhile, the United States believes that last week’s Israeli strikes have significantly weakened Hezbollah. However, U.S. officials are continuing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation. Washington’s main fear is that a possible Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon could trigger a large-scale regional conflict affecting the entire Middle East.
