American rapper and producer P. Diddy (Sean Combs), accused of human trafficking, is under special supervision in prison, according to the People website.
“Like all public figures in his position, he was placed on suicide watch upon entering the facility as a precaution.” – said the source of the publication.
At the same time, representatives of the 54-year-old artist wrote in a bail proposal, which was twice rejected by Manhattan judges, that the conditions of detention were “terrible” and “not suitable for pretrial detention.”
As reported EADailyP. Diddy was arrested on the evening of Monday, September 16. Department of Homeland Security officials raided the hotel where Diddy was staying and detained him. Following his arrest, the rapper was taken to the FBI office in Manhattan.
The musician was charged with sex trafficking, organizing criminal activities and transporting people for the purpose of prostitution. He denies all charges.
Prosecutors say P. Diddy used his business empire, including his record label Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport women and men across U.S. state lines to participate in recorded sexual performances called Freak Offs.
The rapper is currently being held in Brooklyn’s notorious MDC prison without bail. Prosecutors, considering the artist’s appeal against his arrest, came to the conclusion that he represents a danger. At the same time, the bail amount proposed by the rapper’s lawyers was $50 million.
The rapper will remain in custody until the trial. He himself denies all the accusations.
