Cristina Pédroche made a revelation that surprised many. While participating in Uri Sabat’s “The Formula for Success” podcast, she spoke openly about the personality of her husband, chef Dabiz Muñoz. In a story that was as honest as it was shocking, he described his partner as someone who constantly struggles with personal dissatisfaction, even in the brightest moments of his career.
Throughout the conversation, Pedroche explained that although she considers herself a perfectionist, The level of requirement of Dabiz Muñoz is in another dimension. “He pushes perfectionism to the extreme, so much so that it often deprives him of the possibility of enjoying the present,” he confessed. According to her, her husband only finds brief moments of happiness in specific situations: “When he finishes running, when he bathes our daughter or when we are in a special restaurant.” For the presenterit is a reflection of a constant internal struggle. “He’s an unhappy person by nature, and that hurts me sometimes.”
Cristina Pedroche’s concern
The collaborator does not hide her concern about the way in which this perfectionism impacts both of their lives. “I try, every day, to remind him how amazing he is.how lucky he should feel for what he’s built, but it seems he enjoys living in his storm. He is a man who always seeks moreas if what he already had was never enough,” he emphasizes with a certain resignation.
For Cristina, Dabiz’s motto, “avant-garde or die,” clearly reflects her approach to life. However, he believes that this mentality also has its dark side. “It’s a philosophy that constantly pushes itself to the limit.. I said to him: ‘You have been dying for many years and you must also live.’ I think it’s important to find a balance, appreciate what you’ve accomplished and not always think about what’s next.
Still, Cristina recognized that while Dabiz doesn’t spend as much time with his daughter as she would like, he doesn’t do it out of lack of interest or love. “He’s a great dad, but it’s true that DiverXO is his life. He sacrifices a lot of things for his restaurant, but he does it because he believes his job requires extreme dedication. I wish he would find more time to take refuge with his family.but I understand that this is his way of being.
Cristina Pedroche and Dabiz Muñoz are very close
Pedroche also explained how they managed to form a strong team despite the differences. “I’m a bit of a Dabiz mother in some ways.. I try to teach him to appreciate the little things, to value family moments. Little by little, he’s getting there, even though, selfishly, I wish he would. will move faster“. Despite these challenges, the presenter stressed that her relationship with the chef is strong and full of mutual respect.
She emphasized the role she plays in her husband’s success, not only as a wife, but also as a partner in his restaurant. “He trusts me to delegate certain tasks and together we have managed to maintain excellence at DiverXO. But I also understand that without him, things would not be the same. Possesses a unique ability to see possibilities where others see nothing.“, he declares proudly.
Laia, the engine of marriage
The arrival of his daughter Laia, born on July 14, 2023marked a turning point in the couple’s relationship. According to Cristina, becoming parents changed their perspectives, especially hers. “Right now, I’m in total mother mode. It’s not that I need the girl more, it’s that she needs me more. And Dabiz understood this perfectly. I would never feel like I have to change my priorities because I know he respects where I am at right now.“, he assures.
Although their routines have changed drastically, Cristina and Dabiz continue to find moments to keep the spark alive in their relationship. “On Saturdays we take a quick getaway to have dinner together while my parents stay with the girl. It’s not much, but for now it’s enough for both of us,” he says.
Despite the challenges, Pedroche has continued to praise her husband, describing him as a constant source of inspiration. “It’s hard to be with someone so perfectionist.but it’s also amazing to see how he turns every challenge into a masterpiece. Their ability to innovate is incomparable and it’s something I deeply admire,” he confesses on this subject.
“I know he will never be completely happy”
Cristina also acknowledged that her role in the relationship is to remind Dabiz that success isn’t everything. “He’s always thinking about the future, what’s next.. I try to bring him back to the present, to show him what he has already accomplished, but it’s a constant struggle,” he explains.
With a decade together, Cristina and Dabiz have built a relationship which, although not free from difficultiesis based on deep love and mutual respect. For the facilitator, the main thing is to accept their partner as they are, while continuing to encourage them to find a balance. “SI will never be completely happybut that doesn’t mean we can’t find moments of joy together. The important thing is that we continue to grow as a couple and as a family“.
