How the Kremlin is helping Trump become president with the help of AI – Reuters

Russia is actively using artificial intelligence to create content aimed at influencing the upcoming US presidential election.

Reuters reports this.

According to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Moscow leads all foreign countries in the volume of AI content generated for such purposes.

According to an anonymous ODNI official, Russia is waging a massive campaign to support Donald Trump while discrediting his opponents, including Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. Among the methods of influence is the spread of conspiracy theories created using generative AI, which is capable of creating texts, images, and videos that mimic human work.

While the ODNI spokesperson did not specify the specific scope of this content, he stressed that Russia has a deep understanding of the US election and is adept at targeting its information operations with precision. As an example, he cited the case of a video in which Harris is accused of fleeing the scene of an accident; it turned out to be directed, but not created, by AI.

Moreover, Russia continues to use social media with advanced AI tools to promote pro-Kremlin messages. Unlike Russia, China, while actively working with AI, is focusing its efforts on improving its international image rather than interfering in the US elections.

Cursor previously reported that Harris agreed to CNN’s proposal for a debate.

At the end of the final debate, both candidates declared victory.
