What is known about Hezbollah’s new Fadi 3 missile: media analysis

Today, a Lebanese news agency reported that Israel carried out a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, near the town of Metula. The strikes came about an hour after Hezbollah announced the first use of its new missile, called the Fadi-3.

The newspaper “Maariv” writes about this.

Fadi-3 is the latest modification of the Fadi missile, which was first used during the current conflict. Hezbollah has already launched previous versions of this missile, Fadi 1 and Fadi 2. According to information presented in videos published by Hezbollah, the Fadi-1 missile has a diameter of 220 mm, a length of about six meters and carries a warhead weighing 83 kilograms. The stated flight range is 70 kilometers.

As for the Fadi-2 missile, Hezbollah claims that it has a diameter of 302 mm and is also six meters long, but its warhead is much more powerful – weighing 170 kilograms. The flight range of this missile, according to representatives of the organization, can reach up to one hundred kilometers.

Boaz Shapira, representing the Alma Research Center, noted that despite the new names, these missiles are not entirely new types of weapons. He stressed that Hezbollah had already used them during the Second Lebanon War in 2006. According to Shapira, the new names may indicate local production of these missiles directly in Lebanon, which likely makes them independent of Syrian production facilities.

Shapira also added that both types of missiles can be launched from fixed and mobile platforms, which greatly simplifies and speeds up their deployment. Videos released by Hezbollah show the missiles being transported on light trucks, making their launch flexible and difficult to detect before or after launch.

A month ago, Hezbollah released another video showing a large piece of land owned by the organization. According to experts, this video is intended to exert psychological pressure on Israel. It also showed trucks prepared to launch Imad-4 missiles, capable of reaching any point in Israel.

Earlier, Kursor reported that Iran had found the “end” in the pager story.

Iran has conducted its investigation into the pager explosions in Lebanon and said two countries were responsible, not Israel.
