Yamadu Orsi, The left-wing populist Frente Amplio candidate is the near winner of Sunday’s elections in Uruguay. Orsi’s victory in the Uruguayan elections is considered a given, given that the opposition candidate, the ruling party Alvaro Delgadohas already congratulated him and the outgoing president, Luis Lacalle Poucalled him to put himself “under his orders” for the government transition. Yamadu Orsi promised a “renewed left”; He calls himself an “optimistic” Uruguayan and says he wants to unify Uruguay. In addition, he guaranteed that he would not favor radical transformations.
