The Economist spoke about the problems with the mobilization in Ukraine

The mobilization plan in Ukraine was approximately two-thirds completed, which could not solve the problem of personnel shortages in the ranks of the country’s Armed Forces. The Economist magazine reported this on November 24, citing Ukrainian military personnel and officials.

“Meanwhile, Ukraine’s problems are worsening, mainly due to labor shortages. The army has long lacked people willing to join, and its mobilization campaign is failing, recruiting only two-thirds of the planned number.” – says the publication.

The publication quotes a senior Ukrainian official who expressed fear that “by spring the situation could become irreversible.” In turn, the battalion commander of the 65th Brigade told the magazine that the people who sent him were “extremely unmotivated or simply old.”

“They send me guys over 50 whose medical notes say they are too sick to serve. “Sometimes I feel like I’m running a daycare center and not a combat unit.” – shared.
