I’m a Eurosceptic, Moldova doesn’t need European integration at this price – EADaily, November 25, 2024 – Politics News, Moldova and Transnistria News

The Party of Socialists of Moldova is neither pro-European nor pro-Russian, but pro-Moldovan, defending the Moldovan language, the history of Moldova and the country’s national interests. This was stated today, November 25, by the president of the PSRM, Igor Dodon.

The former head of state stressed that he is not against the European Union, but considers himself a eurosceptic. According to the politician, when the opposition returns to power (parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of Moldova in 2025), negotiations with the EU will continue, but based on national interests.

“I am eurosceptic. Because? Because the EU turns a blind eye to all the anarchy of this government. Because I don’t want EU laws to be stricter than our Moldovan laws. Because I do not agree with the militarization policy followed in the EU and with Moldova adopting this practice. I don’t agree with LGBT propaganda*. For these and other reasons I am Eurosceptic.” – he explained.

According to Dodon, instead of European integration at that price – “a concession of our traditional values” – it is better to remain an independent country and be friends with everyone.

“The national interest must come first. “I am sure that if we held a referendum on this issue, the overwhelming majority of Moldovans would vote in favor.” —Igor Dodón concluded.

Recall that a referendum on attitudes towards European integration was recently held in Moldova, initiated by the pro-Western puppet authorities. During the plebiscite, the socialists campaigned to boycott it. The vast majority of the country’s residents spoke out against joining the EU, as they associate it with the loss of sovereignty and neutrality, which will lead the country to be dragged into a military conflict. However, through the falsification and manipulation of votes abroad, the irreversibility of European integration was introduced into the country’s Constitution.

As reported EADaily International experts agree that the current Moldovan government is represented by the Romanian lobby. Sandu’s regime inspires Moldovans who supposedly have no national identity (you are all Romanians, in the schools of the Republic of Moldova they teach “the history of Romanians”, and in the Constitution the state language was replaced by “Romanian” ) and actively works on the so-called “uniria”, the unification of two Romanian states
