Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in New York, where he will take part in the high-level week of events of the UN General Assembly.
Ahead of the trip, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the minister’s schedule would be “very busy.” In addition to bilateral meetings and negotiations in multilateral formats, including the CSTO, BRICS, G20 and others, Lavrov is expected to speak from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly on September 28. A traditional meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is planned.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the current session of the UN General Assembly “will take place against a backdrop of growing global tension.”
