Iranian president calls for end to Ukraine conflict

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for an end to the conflict in Ukraine. He spoke about this on September 24 at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine.

“We support all peace initiatives and believe that dialogue is the only way to resolve this crisis.” – said Pezeshkian.

During his speech, the president also said that the unilateral sanctions imposed by the West against Iran constitute a “crime against humanity.” In his opinion, the most inhumane thing was the deprivation of access to necessary medicines, which endangers the lives of thousands of innocent people.

“The presence of foreign powers in our region is temporary and creates instability. Our development and progress are interconnected and handing over security to extra-regional actors will not benefit any of us.” – he added.
