The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchezmet this Monday in New York with the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantinoduring the days of the United Nations General Assembly. During the meeting, they discussed, among other issues, the joint candidacy of Spain, Portugal and Morocco to celebrate the 2030 Football World Cup.
“We are confident that it will be a success.“Sanchez assured Infantino that Spain continues to work in all areas for the success of the World Cup.
Infantino, for his part, congratulated Sánchez for good sports results of Spanish football and sent a very positive message regarding the bid for the 2030 World Cup.
“I had the honor of meeting with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, and talking about how Football can be used to unite people“since our beautiful sport touches all peoples and all cultures,” Infantino said at the meeting.
“I also thanked President Sánchez your continued support for our wonderful sportas evidenced by the recent successes of the country’s men’s and women’s teams,” added the FIFA President.
The FIFA President stressed that “Spain has been cultivating world-class talent for many years” and assured that the organization he leads “will continue to work with stakeholders across the country to ensure that football continues to connect people,” provide opportunities and make dreams come true“.
“I was happy to know that in Spaincandidate host country, Everyone is looking forward to co-hosting the World Cup centenary celebration of FIFA 2030. This historic edition will bring together three continents in a unique project, which will pay tribute to the beautiful game with the participation of the six confederations,” added Infantino.

On the other hand, Sánchez had a meeting this Tuesday in New York with the Moroccan Prime Minister, Aziz Ajanuch, during which both also discussed the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup with Portugal.
The Prime Minister indicated on social media after his meeting with the Prime Minister of Morocco that Bilateral relations are wonderful.
