Spanish companies increased their turnover last September by 0.6% compared to the same month of 2023, according to data published this Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE). With this increase, business revenues returned to positive annual rates after falling 1.9% in August.
Business turnover thus increased by 1.4% in September, adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects.
By sector, sales are increasing in three of the four areas analyzed by the INE. Non-financial market services recorded the largest increase (+7.7%), ahead of trade which increased by 0.9%, while the only decline concerns the supply of electricity and water, sanitation and waste management. (-4.1%).
THE The monthly variation in turnover between September and August 2024, excluding seasonal and calendar effects, is 1.8%. Of the four sectors analyzed, all presented positive monthly rates. The largest increases occurred in mining and manufacturing (+1.0%) and trade (+0.9%).
