The now considered by the UCO as a “corrupting link” of the Koldo Field, Victor de Aldamareceived the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard medal in 2022. And he did not do it as another award, but in the words of Colonel Francisco José Vázquez, it was a recognition “with the heart”, as revealed in the award presentation video published by El World.

“In your case, Victor, we are not giving you the medal as a prize or a reward, but much more. It is not a reward in this case because you almost feel like a civil guard“, explains Colonel Vázquez, about whom he declared before the National Court that he had paid commissions to ministers and socialist leaders.

“You are a person who He has deep values and deep tributes to our nation, to Spainto the interests of Spain. You do everything you do for us out of altruism“, then defended the high command of the Ministry of the Interior, specialized in the fight against terrorism.

“It doesn’t deserve an award, it doesn’t deserve an award, it deserves recognition, which it does in this case. This medal is intended to be: recognition of your persona”, continued the colonel and added: “a recognition to understand that we, the civil guards, this unit, UCE-2, which is dedicated to the fight against international terrorism, despite its very grandiose name and which can understand that you have everything you need to work, but needs things and people like you“.

After the latest events, the The Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) requested the withdrawal of the medal understanding that the badge is inconsistent with Aldama’s alleged involvement in criminal acts. The AUGC considers it “unacceptable” that decorations are awarded to people “whose career may contradict the principles of ethics, honesty and commitment” which govern the institution.

Government sources in conversation with laSexta confirm that the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, will withdraw the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard from the alleged commissioner as soon as possible. Even if they admit that it is likely that, to impeach him, they will have to wait until there is a firm conviction against him.
