How can we know the exact date?

Let us not forget that the first technical inspection must be carried out four years after registration and then continue the periodic schedule.
If you need assistance, you can contact one of the DEKRA stations and so attend and dates are confirmed.
Tips to avoid problems arising during inspection
If you want to avoid problems during the inspection, these tips can help you pass it:
- Checking the Basics: You need to make sure the lights, brakes, tires, windshield wipers and fluid levels are in good condition.
- The documentation must be in order: you must have your driving license and your ITV card with you.
- Repair of possible defects: When any type of technical problem is detected, it is possible to resolve the defects before going to the ITV.
- Make an appointment with ITV: you will avoid unnecessary waiting and the deadlines will be respected.
Know some of the most common ITV faults
Nearly forty percent of cars that need to go to an inspection station don’t do so. Those who participate have a series of errors that are the most common and we are going to tell you about them:
Signaling and lighting system
The breakdown is serious in 24% of cases, when there are defects in the front and rear optics, both in the housing and in the position, brake, high beam, fog or reversing lights. This increases the risk of an accident due to reduced visibility.
Very worn tires
A failure which appears in 23% of cases. One in four cars have uneven tire wear or a lower tread depth than allowed.
Driving with worn tires endangers the car’s grip on the road and its stability.
Chassis, suspension and axles
A serious breakdown in 21% of vehicles. Many cars fail in this sense, with poor shock absorbers, worn ball joints, open springs, as well as rust or play. All of this directly affects the controllability of the vehicle.
Measurement of polluting emissions
Serious failure in nineteen percent of cases. Nearly one in five passenger cars will not meet the emission standards for which they have been approved. Excess CO2 and other polluting gases contribute to harm to public health and the environment.
Worn or damaged braking equipment
This happens in 17% of cases. We are talking about problems with the discs, pads, calipers or even the fluid specific to said function, which aims to decelerate the car. These are vital elements for the safety of its occupants.
We hope that this information will be useful to you in detecting which points tend to be subject to the greatest number of breakdowns when submitting the car to the vehicle technical inspection process.
