He Royal Theater of Madrid was, once again, the scene of the Christmas charity concert Cofares Foundation, in its 29th edition. Cofares partners and collaborators participated in the event, alongside representatives of the pharmaceutical and health sector and personalities from other sectors of society.
Eduardo Pastor, president of Cofares and its Foundationtook the opportunity to address all the members of Cofares and highlight their daily work: “the commitment and constant dedication of our members are the engine that drives our mission to improve the quality of life of so many people. This evening is undoubtedly a deserved tribute to his excellence and his vocationwho bring incalculable value to society.
As tradition dictates, during the concert the XXIV Cofares Foundation Prizean award that recognizes the social work of individuals, entities or organizations in favor of patients and communities in need of health or social care. Given the extraordinary level of the projects presented, two foundations were rewarded during this edition. On the one hand, the work of Spanish Association for Research on Focal and Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (AEGEFYS) for his research work on this disease. On the other hand, at I want a foundationfor his Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Project For improve the cognitive abilities of children with neurological disorders.
Innovation and hope
Eduardo Pastor presented the award to both organizations, highlighting the transformative impact of their projects in the health field. “It is a true privilege to recognize initiatives like this that not only meet essential needs, but also bring innovation and hope to the field of health. Both the dedication of AEGEFYS make visible and advance research into little-known diseases such as I want a foundation with the improvement of cognitive abilities of children with neurological disorders, represent two very inspiring examples of how to build a better future. We are proud to be able to accompany and support those who dedicate their efforts to improving so many lives,” said the pastor.
For his part, Mª Paz Martínez de Carvajal, member of the board of directors of AEGEFYS and patient of GEFSexpressed his gratitude in receiving the award: “this award is an incentive to continue working towards our goal of raising awareness of this disease and its symptoms, and the challenge it poses for patients and their families. This will also help promote collaboration between researchers, doctors and the pharmaceutical industry, to better understand it and find treatments that cure or, at least, improve the quality of life of those who suffer from it.
Antonio Camuñas, vice-president of the Querer Foundationalso wanted to thank the distinction: “receiving this recognition highlights the interdisciplinary collaboration of a extraordinary team led by Dr. Álvaro Pascual-Leone, Dr. Tormos and Dr. Morenoas well as the tireless commitment of the educational and scientific team of the Celia and Pepe School. With this support, we can continue to advance our mission to improve the quality of life for children with neurodevelopmental diseases through science, education and innovation.
The interpretations of Délica Chamber Orchestra and the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestraunder the direction of Juan Pablo Valencia and with violinist Esther Abrami as soloist, provided the musical note of the XXIX Christmas Charity Concert of the Cofares Foundation. In the first part, participants enjoyed Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, while the second was marked by the emotion of Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 “From the New World” by Dvorak. The gala, in addition to delighting with its repertoire, served to raise funds for the “SANAMOS” program, as part of an event combining music and solidarity.
