The second solar eclipse of this year will take place on October 2.
Oku.Az reports that the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University has published information on this matter.
When the Moon is farthest from the Earth, the angular size is smaller than the angular size of the Sun, so during an eclipse, the Moon does not completely cover the surface of the Sun and a bright ring appears around the Moon. Therefore, the eclipse that occurs at this time is called an annular solar eclipse.
The eclipse event will begin on October 2 at 19:42:47 Baku time and end on October 3 at 01:46:47. The maximum of the eclipse will be at 22:44:51 on October 2. The eclipse will last for 6 hours and 4 minutes. The total eclipse will begin at 20:50:24 on October 2 and end at 00:39:04 on October 3. The total eclipse will last for 3 hours 48 minutes 40 seconds.
An annular solar eclipse will be visible in southern Chile and Argentina. Countries that will see at least a partial eclipse will be southern North America, most of South America, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and Antarctica. The eclipse will not be visible from Azerbaijan.
