Donald Trump’s team is likely reconsidering his statements about ending the war in Ukraine within 24 hours. Experts believe that this is due to a deeper analysis of the real situation and the positions of the parties before possible negotiations. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ukrainian-NATO Public League, Sergei Jerj.
This was reported by Patriots of Ukraine.
According to him, the Trump administration has begun to study in detail Russia’s strategic plans to prepare for possible decisions in the field of assistance to Ukraine. Jerge stressed that the 24 Hours statements were only part of the electoral campaign and did not reflect a deep knowledge of current events.
He also noted that the US side could consider supplying Ukraine with the THAAD air defense system. However, the main limitation, in his opinion, may be the high cost of this defensive technology. Jerge expressed confidence that the transfer of such systems will not lead to an escalation of the conflict, as they are intended solely for protection.
The expert believes that the hard work of the Trump team in analyzing the situation in Ukraine can contribute to a more balanced approach to resolving issues of military assistance. This will allow the future president of the United States to make decisions that take into account the interests not only of Ukraine, but also of NATO as a whole.
Thus, changes in Trump’s rhetoric indicate a serious approach to studying the situation, which can bring positive results for Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia.
