Prosecutor’s Office Forwards Businessman’s Complaint About Alvise Perez’s Financing to Supreme Court

The State Attorney General’s Office has forwarded to the Supreme Court prosecutors the document presented by businessman Álvaro Romillo, creator of the Madeira Club Invest cryptocurrency financial bar, according to which he delivered 100,000 euros in cash to Luis Pérez Fernández, leader of the Se party. He finished the Party and better known as Alvise, for his campaign for the European Parliament. This could constitute a crime of illegal financing.

As the Public Ministry explains, Romillo’s first complaint was filed on September 19 and this Tuesday he registered a development in his story. Given that he is a Member of the European Parliament, Alvise has jurisdiction before the Supreme Court, which would be competent to investigate a story that points, among other things, to a possible electoral crime. Prosecutors will now review the story to resolve the next step.

In his writings to the Attorney General’s Office, Romillo reports conversations with Alvise Pérez and an expert, authenticating them to affirm that he provided him with digital wallets or purses in which he could receive donations from his supporters, but also that he gave him 100,000 dollars last May, euros that, according to what the candidate for the European Parliament at the time told him, he needed to cover his expenses without them being detectable by the Court of Auditors, as reported by eldiario.es.

It is worth remembering that the leader of this cryptocurrency investment club that operates under the CryptoSpain brand abruptly closed its doors last week after El Confidencial revealed that this was where private contributions to the Se Acabó La Fiesta campaign for the European Parliament were going to end. Last year, the Securities Market Commission classified the Madeira Invest Club as a financial beach bar.

After the closure, those affected began to organize to sue Romillo for fraud. There are already two complaints before the National Court for these events, one promoted by the Association of People Affected by Cryptocurrencies led by Aránguez Abogados and another, on behalf of a platform created ad hoc and represented by Zaballos Abogados.

The first, as reported by ABC, have already asked the central courts of investigation that the complaint be admitted and immediately sent to the Supreme Court, since they understand that this money would have been used for the current MEP to publicize a cryptocurrency described as a “scam”.

It is in the context of these complaints that Romillo’s letter to the Attorney General’s Office was produced, which now leaves room for the Supreme Court prosecutors to analyze whether there is enough evidence against Alvise Pérez in his story to bring the case to trial.
