“Not only on the eve of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), but also during other international events, a large number of cyberattacks against Azerbaijan occur.”
This was stated by Ilgar Musayev, head of the State Information Security Service and Special Communications, in his statement to journalists, APA reports.
“Citizens do not see this. As a service, we cannot disclose all this information. But such attacks are prevented. We sometimes publish this information in our media on a quarterly basis. There are cyber attacks and threats against citizens and state institutions. Moreover, such attacks occur in connection with COP29,” – added I. Musayev.
He said that during the elections there were attempts at cyber attacks against Azerbaijan.
“Cyberattacks were attempted during the presidential election and the Milli Mejlis election. We simply cannot disclose all of them. But there is daily work in this regard. Misinformation is being spread on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. We have managed to prevent them by working together with those platforms.”
