Hostage negotiations in Doha: media reported new details

Mossad chief David Barnea returned from Doha, where he discussed a possible deal to free the hostages with senior officials from Qatar and the United States.

This was reported by The Times Of Israel.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, Barnea, CIA chief Burns and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani were developing a joint proposal that takes into account recent events and problems in the region.

According to Ynet, one of the main initiatives being considered is an Egyptian proposal for a two-day ceasefire and the release of four hostages. A multi-stage plan is also being discussed between Qatar and the United States, which provides for the release of all hostages and an end to the conflict. However, according to The Times of Israel, Israel has not yet received an official response from Hamas regarding the proposed terms.

The Israeli delegation led by Barnea in Doha also discussed a small deal proposed by Egypt to build trust between the parties, as well as a multi-stage proposal from Qatar and the United States, The Times of Israel reported. At the same time, Israeli officials emphasize that the cessation of hostilities in Gaza, which is Hamas’s condition, is unacceptable to them.

According to Ynet, negotiations will continue with the participation of the head of Egyptian intelligence, Hassan Rashad, as well as working groups that Hamas will indirectly join.

Kursor previously reported that the Hamas terrorist group was evaluating the prospects for a new draft agreement for the release of hostages.
