In recent years, Miren Doiz addresses the consequences of the pandemic within her artistic production. A feeling of guilt and environmental anxiety runs through and structures his work. With this context, the artist offers a dialogue between the sculptural and the pictorial and presents us with a series of assemblages which testify to the danger of the collapse of nature due to the immeasurable impact of human activity.
The basic artist Arcadia, sample of your recent workaround the installation titled A personal (and guilty) landscape. With him he continues a 2022 project which has already revealed his emotional discomfort due to the devastation of nature. Since then, all useless or disused objects stored in his workshop have been classified and used as working materials to design your sculptures. Thus, tools, technological devices, household items, decorations, gifts, catalogs… all have perished, becoming the raw material from which to create and with which to denounce the evils of our days.
Nature and waste therefore converge in the project room of El Apartamento. Doiz’s sculptures that populate the gallery, constructed from recycled materials and discarded objects, depict a post-natural autumnal forest; that is to say, made as a second nature that the artist invites us to penetrate and understand.
After crossing the Pamplona School of Arts and Craftsgraduated in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country in 2003. He furthered his studies at the University Massana School of Art and Design in Barcelona. Among the awards he has received are the Young Artists of Pamplona (2003), the Meetings of Young Artists of Navarre (2005), the Estampa DKV Prize (2015), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation scholarship (2014-2015 ) and the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (2018). For several years he has lived and worked in Madrid.

He held two individual exhibitions at the Moisés Pérez gallery in Albéniz and participated in exhibitions at the Rita Urso Artopia galleries in Milan and Carlos Carvalho galleries in Lisbon in 2019.
His work is present in the collections of the Coca-Cola Foundation, the Contemporary Art Collection of the Community of Madrid, the Contemporary Art Collection of the Pamplona City Hall, the Collection of the ICO Collections Museum, the DKV Collection, Mayo Art Center 2. Collection (CA2M) or Collection of the Navarre Museum.
