Renfe broke a record and closed the best summer in its history by registering a total of 8.1 million passengers on AVE, Avlo, Euromed, Alvia and Intercity services, 21% more than the 6.7 million users in the same period last year.

Likewise, the company also recorded the best August in its historical series in terms of passenger volume, with more than three million passengers and a record growth of 375,000 passengers compared to 2019 (+14%) and an increase of 570,000 trips compared to 2023 (+21.9%).
In concrete terms, the railway operator has put into service a timetable of 24,528 trains for the summer season, with 8.4 million seats.
Furthermore, taking into account only the High Speed ​​and Long Distance services during the summer months, Renfe represented more than 1.4 million new customerswhich represents a growth of 21.2% of travelers compared to 2023.
This summer, the most requested destinations were those connecting Madrid with Andalusia, followed by the Madrid-Catalonia route, the Cantabrian Coast and the Valencian Community.
