The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, defended this Monday the actions of the Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, in the events linked to the partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso after the report of the ‘UCO in which he highlights a “preeminent participation” of the head of the public prosecutor’s office in the alleged leak of the email showing that it was Alberto González Amador who had proposed an agreement to the prosecution recognizing his tax offenses and not the other way around.
In addition, Torres said that it is up to the leader of the PSOE of Madrid, Juan Lobato, to respond to the notarial act he requested with the communications he maintained with members of the Government.
This is how Torres spoke at a press conference from La Moncloa about the UCO report, emphasizing the investigation of the Attorney General and when asked how the government interpreted Juan Lobato’s decision to record conversations with the chief of staff of the current minister Óscar López, which led to his summons to appear as a witness in this case. “This will have to be answered by the person you mention,” replied Ángel Víctor Torres during this press conference, referring to Juan Lobato, reports Europa Press.
Regardless, Minister Torres said, “so that people can understand, that the Government has become aware of this latest information through the press and, regarding the work of the Attorney General with the events related to the partner of Isabel Díaz, Ayuso believes that “he did nothing other than deny the hoax.”
“What happened was that the chief of staff of the President of the Community of Madrid disseminated objectively false information, linked to the legal proceedings that were being followed against the partner of the President of the Community of Madrid. And what the state attorney general did was nothing more than clarify that it was fake news. Therefore, deny the hoax and tell the truth. “That’s what happened,” he argued.
