For this reason, many choose to temporarily deregister the vehicle and thus save a few euros, since they are exempt from paying some of the mandatory taxes for the car to travel correctly on the roads of our country.

To temporarily deregister a car in Spain, you can do so via the website of General Directorate of Trafficand thus avoid going to the office in person. How to temporarily deregister a car in Traffic

If you prefer to complete the process of temporarily deregistering a car in person at Traffic, the process is quite simple and only requires following a few steps to do it correctly. Before going to Traffic Headquarters, You must ensure that you have the required documentation: DNI, driving license, car registration number and certificate of being up to date with road tax payment.

The second step is to go to the nearest traffic headquarters. It must be taken into account that some, if not all, of them require an appointment, so it is advisable to request one.
